EXCEPTIONAL LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR UHNW FAMILY IN THE HAMPTONS

A wonderful opportunity is available for an experienced, proactive and highly organised Housekeeper to join a private UHNW family on a live-in basis at their 6-bedroom home in Amagansett. This is a hands-on housekeeping position supporting an established Houseman and helping to ensure the home is beautifully maintained, organised and ready for the family whenever they are in residence.
 
The successful candidate will take responsibility for day-to-day housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and general household presentation, while also being happy to support more broadly wherever required. You should be organised, practical and proactive, with the ability to notice what needs doing and take ownership rather than simply working through a fixed list of tasks. Simple cooking, errands and general household support will also form part of the role.
 
This would suit someone who enjoys being part of a close household team and is happy to pitch in wherever needed. The family have a relatively low-key staffing structure and value people who are warm, adaptable, child-friendly and willing to work collaboratively with the Houseman, Chief of Staff and other members of the household team.
 
The position is generally Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) with regular working hours, although flexibility will be required during holiday periods when the family and their children are in residence and their schedule changes. The successful candidate will also need to be a confident driver and will occasionally travel to the family’s Massachusetts residence to provide holiday or absence cover for the Housekeeper there. Accommodation is provided in the family’s home with private bedroom and bathroom.
 
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and general presentation throughout the Amagansett residence
• Work closely with the Houseman to ensure the smooth running and organisation of the property
• Support with household organisation, inventories and maintaining household supplies
• Prepare simple family meals and assist with kitchen organisation when required
• Manage errands, shopping, deliveries, collections and other practical household requirements
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors and service providers as required
• Assist with preparing the property for the family’s arrival and maintaining it throughout their stay
• Adapt priorities and working hours during holiday periods according to the family’s schedule
• Provide occasional practical support around the child when required
• Travel to Massachusetts when required to provide holiday or absence cover for the resident Housekeeper
• Work collaboratively with the wider household team across both properties

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Proven private household housekeeping experience within in an UHNW family home
• Excellent hands-on cleaning, laundry and household presentation skills
• Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently
• Practical and willing to support with a broad range of household tasks
• Comfortable preparing simple family meals
• Confident driver with a clean driving licence
• Warm and genuinely comfortable around children
• Flexible and adaptable to changing family schedules
• Willing and able to travel to Massachusetts when required and stay at the property
• Discreet, trustworthy and professional
• A genuine team player who is happy to work alongside the existing Houseman and wider household team
• Legally authorised to work in the USA and willing to undergo comprehensive background and reference checks
