EXPERIENCED HOUSE MANAGER REQUIRED FOR FORMAL RESIDENCE IN MAYFAIR

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly professional House Manager to oversee the operation of a prestigious private household in the heart of Mayfair. This impressive residence serves as a secondary home for a large international family, who are typically in residence for approximately three months of the year. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the property is impeccably maintained and fully prepared at all times, delivering exceptional standards of service whenever the family are in residence.
 
This is a fully staffed household, requiring a polished, proactive, and hands-on House Manager with previous experience leading large household teams within a formal private residence. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the property, managing staff, maintaining exceptional household standards, and ensuring the residence runs seamlessly at all times. Strong leadership skills, clear communication, and the ability to foster a positive and harmonious team culture are essential.
 
The ideal candidate will lead by example, maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, presentation, and formal service while confidently managing contractors, overseeing maintenance, and ensuring the specialist care of luxury finishes, antiques, silver, artwork, and fine furnishings. Previous hands-on experience with silver service is essential, together with excellent organisational and IT skills.
 
Working days are Monday to Friday for the majority of the year, with complete flexibility required when the family are in residence. During these periods, the successful candidate will live on-site to ensure the smooth operation of the household. Accommodation is provided in the form of a private double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom.
 
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of the private residence
• Leading, mentoring, and managing a large household team during periods of residence
• Ensuring exceptional housekeeping, presentation, and formal service standards throughout the property
• Managing household rotas, daily operations, and promoting a positive team culture
• Liaising with contractors and overseeing maintenance and repair works
• Carrying out basic property inspections and reporting maintenance issues
• Supervising the care of specialist finishes, antiques, artwork, silver, and luxury furnishings
• Delivering and overseeing formal silver service when required
• Managing household inventories, administration, and operational reporting
• Ensuring the residence is fully prepared for family arrivals and maintained to impeccable standards throughout occupancy

 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a House Manager within a UHNW private household
• Proven experience managing large household teams within a formal residence (25+ staff members)
• Hands-on experience with silver service
• Strong knowledge of specialist finishes, luxury furnishings, and household maintenance
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Good IT skills and confidence managing household administration
• Highly organised, meticulous, and proactive with exceptional attention to detail
• Calm, polished, professional, and able to remain unflappable under pressure
• Comfortable overseeing contractors and coordinating maintenance projects
• Fluent English (Arabic language skills not required)
• Right to work in the UK
• Excellent checkable references demonstrating longevity in previous positions
