HEAD HOUSEKEEPER WANTED FOR A BEAUTIFUL PRIVATE ESTATE

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and hands-on Head Housekeeper to take responsibility for the housekeeping of a beautiful private estate in Henley-on-Thames.
 
The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running and presentation of the main house, guest houses and additional properties, whilst leading and supporting a team of Housekeepers within the wider interior team. This is a very hands-on position, suited to someone who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day housekeeping whilst also taking responsibility for the organisation and coordination of the household.
 
The family is looking for someone bubbly, personable and sociable who will fit naturally into a fun and hardworking team. You should be happy to lead from the front, get stuck in when required and maintain high standards across the main house and surrounding properties, whilst also creating a positive and enjoyable working environment for the team.
 
The Head Housekeeper will need to be highly organised, proactive and confident managing the housekeeping priorities across multiple properties. The family is looking for someone hardworking, reliable and who takes pride in their work, but who also brings a warm personality and positive attitude to the household.
 
Working 45 hours per week, any additional hours worked will be given back as time off in lieu. A driving licence would be highly advantageous due to the number of properties and the nature of the role.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the properties
• Leading and supporting the team of eight within the interior department
• Coordinating daily housekeeping priorities and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
• Maintaining the estate and properties to a high standard
• Being very hands-on with housekeeping when required
• Cleaning, polishing, dusting, vacuuming and general upkeep of the properties
• Ensuring bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas are beautifully presented
• Overseeing laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
• Organising and delegating tasks across the housekeeping team
• Monitoring standards and providing guidance and support to team members
• Taking initiative and identifying areas requiring attention
• Working closely with the wider household team
• Helping to ensure the smooth running of the estate on a daily basis
• Maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment
• Assisting with additional household duties and projects as required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a Head Housekeeper or Senior Housekeeper within a private household
• Strong understanding of high-end housekeeping standards
• Confident leading and supporting a housekeeping team
• Very hands-on approach and happy to get stuck in
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Proactive and able to manage priorities independently
• Hardworking, reliable and flexible
• Bubbly, warm and sociable personality
• Enjoys working as part of a fun and close-knit team
• Positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
• Excellent communication and people-management skills
• Full UK driving licence preferred
