HIGH-CALIBRE HOUSEKEEPER FOR LARGE CENTRAL LONDON HOUSEHOLD

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly professional Housekeeper to join a prestigious fully staffed private residence in Central London. This role is ideally suited to a meticulous and service-driven individual who takes immense pride in maintaining the highest standards within a formal household and enjoys working collaboratively as part of an established housekeeping team.
 
The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the residence is maintained to impeccable standards at all times, providing seamless support to the principals, their guests, and the wider household team. This is a varied position requiring exceptional attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the household while maintaining complete discretion and professionalism.
 
Working closely with the House Manager, Senior Housekeeper, Laundress, and the wider domestic team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all principal and guest areas, delivering exceptional housekeeping and wardrobe care, and assisting with the smooth running of the household during both daily operations and formal events.
 
This position operates on a rota basis, working five shifts per week across a seven-day schedule, including weekends. The successful candidate must be flexible to work a rotating pattern of early, middle, and late shifts to ensure seamless household coverage throughout the day.
 
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintaining all principal, family, guest, and staff areas to exceptional housekeeping standards
• Carrying out detailed cleaning, polishing, dusting, vacuuming, floor care, and specialist surface maintenance
• Providing exceptional laundry support, wardrobe organisation, and the care of luxury garments, handbags, shoes, and accessories
• Monitoring guest rooms and principal suites, replenishing toiletries, refreshments, linens, towels, stationery, and other amenities
• Making beds, changing bed linen, refreshing rooms, and ensuring every area remains guest-ready throughout the day
• Caring for fine furnishings, antiques, silver, brass, delicate finishes, and luxury household items
• Packing and unpacking luggage for the principals and house guests when required
• Welcoming guests to the residence and ensuring they feel comfortable
• Maintaining housekeeping stores, linen cupboards, laundry areas, and service cupboards in an organised and well-stocked condition
• Caring for fresh flowers and indoor plants throughout the residence
• Assisting during formal dinners, receptions, and household events when required
• Running household errands and collecting laundry or specialist items when necessary
• Supporting colleagues during busy periods and providing cover for other members of the housekeeping team when required
• Monitoring stock levels of housekeeping supplies and reporting replenishment requirements
• Liaising closely with the House Manager and wider household team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the residence
• Reporting maintenance issues, damages, or household concerns promptly and accurately
• Assisting with the care of household pets if required

 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Previous experience working within a formal UHNW private household
• Excellent housekeeping, laundry, and wardrobe management skills
• Knowledge of luxury finishes, antiques, specialist cleaning techniques, and delicate fabrics
• Experience working within a fully staffed household environment
• Exceptional attention to detail with consistently high standards
• Professional, discreet, and immaculately presented at all times
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a large household team
• Flexible to work a rotating pattern of early, middle, and late shifts, including weekends
• Positive, proactive, and service-oriented attitude
• Right to work in the UK
• Excellent checkable references demonstrating longevity within previous private household positions
• An up-to-date DBS check or the willingness to obtain one
