JUNIOR HOUSEKEEPER REQUIRED FOR PRIVATE ESTATE NEAR BANBURY
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Housekeeper to join a fully staffed private household near Banbury. This is a large family home with an established household team, and the successful candidate will work closely with the Head Housekeeper, two other Housekeepers and wider Estate staff.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys maintaining consistently high standards and takes genuine pride in their work. The family are particularly interested in finding someone with a positive attitude who is keen to learn, develop their skills and become a valued member of the team on a long-term basis.
The position encompasses detailed housekeeping, laundry, ironing and wardrobe organisation, alongside occasional service duties. Candidates should have a good understanding of fabrics, finishes and appropriate cleaning methods, although attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am-6:00pm. There will be occasional weekend work depending on the family’s requirements, so some flexibility will be needed.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Daily housekeeping and presentation of the residence
- Detailed cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and reception areas
- Laundry, ironing and appropriate care of delicate fabrics
- Wardrobe organisation and seasonal wardrobe changes
- Managing household linen and ensuring everything is correctly stored
- Keeping cupboards, storage areas and back-of-house spaces organised
- Monitoring and replenishing household supplies
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues when required
- Assisting with service and supporting the principals when needed
- Working closely with the Head Housekeeper and wider household team
- Providing additional support during busy periods and occasional weekends
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Previous housekeeping experience within a private household or high-end hospitality environment
- Good housekeeping, laundry and ironing skills
- Knowledge of fabrics, finishes and appropriate cleaning methods
- Positive, willing attitude with a genuine desire to learn and develop
- Hands-on and happy to work as part of a fully staffed household
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Proactive, reliable and able to use initiative
- Calm, discreet and respectful of household privacy
- Flexible to assist with occasional weekend work
- Looking for a stable, long-term position
- Full right to work in the UK
