LAND-BASED SERVICE STEWARDESS FOR PRESTIGIOUS STAFFED RESIDENCE IN SURREY

A prestigious private household in Surrey is looking for an experienced Service Stewardess/Butler to join its fully staffed team. Reporting to the Head Butler, you will provide polished, discreet and attentive service to the principals and their guests, supporting the smooth running of the household and delivering consistently high standards. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced candidate from a private residence, luxury hotel or five-star hospitality background.
  
The role will focus on food and beverage service, working closely with the Head Butler and Chef to ensure meals and refreshments are served seamlessly. You will also assist with guest service, table setting, pantry organisation and general household support. The ideal candidate will be personable and confident, with excellent professional boundaries and a genuine understanding of discreet private service.
  
The family’s schedule can vary according to their movements, so flexibility around shifts and occasional weekend work is essential. The position can be offered on either a live-in or live-out basis, with live-in accommodation provided in an en-suite bedroom within separate staff accommodation.
  
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Provide silver service, plated service and family-style service as required
• Set and dress tables for daily meals, formal dinners and special occasions
• Prepare and serve tea, coffee, wines, Champagne, cocktails and refreshments
• Coordinate meal service closely with the Chef and wider household team
• Welcome and serve guests with warmth, professionalism and discretion
• Maintain the pantry, dining areas, silverware, crystal, china and table linens
• Assist with breakfast, afternoon tea, canapés and light refreshments
• Maintain beverage stocks and ensure service areas and equipment are clean and organised

  
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous food & beverage experience within a private residence, luxury hotel or five-star hospitality environment
• Strong food and beverage knowledge, including formal service and wine service
• Polished, well-presented and personable with excellent professional boundaries
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on approach
• Comfortable working as part of a fully staffed household and reporting to a Head Butler
• Flexible regarding shifts and occasional weekend work
• Discreet, trustworthy and able to maintain absolute confidentiality
• Right to live and work in the UK
• Excellent, checkable references
