PET-FRIENDLY HOUSEKEEPER/COOK SOUGHT FOR LOVELY FAMILY HOME IN ISLEWORTH

A warm and welcoming family based in Isleworth, West London, is seeking an experienced live-out Housekeeper/Cook to become a trusted and valued member of their household. This is a long-term position for a hands-on, reliable and well-organised individual who takes genuine pride in creating a clean, comfortable and well-run home.
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the family’s 4-bedroom home, with a particular focus on high-standard housekeeping, healthy family-style cooking and pet care. Naturally proactive and able to work independently, with a warm and caring approach and a genuine understanding of the discretion and trust required when working within a private family home, you will also be a confident driver who is happy to support with ad-hoc driving duties for the family’s teenage daughter and errand running.
 
Working Monday to Friday from 8am-5pm or 9am-6pm, the successful candidate must be flexible to assist with occasional work outside of these times to support the family’s schedule. While this is a live-out position, it is imperative that the Housekeeper/Cook is comfortable with house and pet sitting when the family travel, usually for periods of 1-3 weeks at a time, a few times per year. The family have two dogs, so someone who genuinely enjoys animals is important.
 
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Maintain the home to a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and organisation
• Undertake all general housekeeping, including cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living areas
• Manage laundry and ironing, including changing bed linen and assisting with wardrobe organisation
• Keep household supplies well stocked and organised, including grocery shopping and managing household provisions
• Prepare a variety of fresh, healthy and nutritious home-cooked family-style meals for the family
• Provide day-to-day care of the family’s two dogs, including feeding, walking and general pet care
• Assist with the care and maintenance of flowers, plants and the garden when the family travel
• Receive deliveries and assist with coordinating household services and contractors when required
• Run local household errands and assist with grocery shopping and other practical requirements
• Provide occasional driving support, including school drop-offs and pick-ups for the family’s teenage daughter, as well as driving other family members to appointments, activities or nearby locations when required
• During periods of family travel, stay at the property to house and pet sit, maintaining the home and caring for the dogs throughout their absence
• Help ensure the household continues to run smoothly and efficiently in the family’s absence

 
 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Previous experience working in a private household in a housekeeping/domestic role
• Strong housekeeping skills and excellent attention to detail
• Confident cooking ability, with experience preparing fresh, healthy family-style meals
• Valid UK driving licence and good driving record
• Confident and responsible driver, comfortable with local driving, school runs and family transportation
• Genuine enjoyment of and experience with dogs
• Willingness and ability to stay in the family home for periods of 1-3 weeks when the family travels
• Good spoken English and confident communication skills
• Highly trustworthy, discreet and respectful of the family’s privacy
• Reliable, flexible and able to work independently
